WESTERN SAMOA. Samoa Airports Authority (SAA) has reached agreement to introduce booths for two rental car services at Faleolo International Airport.
SAA Corporate Services Manager Ringo Jensen told The Moodie Report that all facilities for the rental car businesses would be operational in September.
?We have agreed three-year contracts with Discovery Rentals and Samoana Rentals to base offices in the arrivals area of the terminal,? he said. ?The move has come in response to public demand. Car rental is an essential part of the airport. Agents have been allowed to promote car rentals to arriving passengers but to date there hasn?t been office space available for them.?
Introducing the booths will provide a welcome boost to revenues for the government-owned SAA.
In 2007 the authority doubled the available car parking space at the airport, yet the uniform parking charge of SAT2 (US$0.76) restricts its ability to recoup that investment.
A report on Faleolo International Airport will feature in The Moodie Report Digital Print Edition in October.
