Some meals, snacks dropped by United
United Airlines, struggling to curb losses from fuel prices, will become the first U.S. carrier to stop serving free meals in the coach cabin of some overseas flights.
Instead, United will offer food that can be purchased aboard trips from its European "gateway" airport, Washington's Dulles International, starting Oct. 1, spokeswoman Robin Urbanski said.

The National Weather Service said most of New Mexico is in for a quiet weather day Friday. Some isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected over the higher terrain, and temperatures are expected to increase.
