When Pete Ells arrived at James Madison University on a golf scholarship, his coach told him he needed to pick a major.
"I thought it was golf," Ells replied.
The coach quickly informed him that wasn't an option and handed him a list of majors at the Virginia school. The freshman from New Jersey picked hotel and restaurant management simply because he had been a bellboy at a Marriott in high school.
