With all this talk of an economic downturn, and Vegas properties either suspending construction (Echelon) or filing for bankruptcy protection (Lake Las Vegas), a traveler would expect hotel prices to drop and great deals to be found. I had a look at a few travel booking sites to see what hotel rates are over the Labor Day weekend (all prices are pre-tax unless otherwise noted).

CALGARY — Canada is attracting fewer visitors from the United States this year, but the usual culprit - high gasoline prices - is not the biggest reason, the president of the Hotel Association of Canada says.
